Alia M. Caravelli is a founding partner at Blair | Caravelli Law and devotes her legal practice to family law. Her broad practice experience includes: divorce, annulments, spousal support, maintenance, custody, child support, legal separation, pre and postnuptial agreements, name changes, adoptions, restraining orders, visitation, domestic partnership agreements, grandparent visitation, paternity, guardianships, and modification of divorce decrees.
Ms. Caravelli is admitted to practice in the State of Illinois and the U.S. District Court, Northern District of Illinois. She received her Bachelor of Arts in English Literature from the University of Illinois at Chicago and her Juris Doctor from Chicago-Kent College of Law.
She has received several recognitions in her profession, including being listed in the 2009 and 2010 Bar Register of Preeminent Lawyers and being listed as a Rising Star for Illinois’ Outstanding Young Lawyers in 2010 and 2011. Ms. Caravelli is also regularly invited to be a guest speaker at local bar association programs and Chicago law schools.
Alia is a member of the Chicago Bar Association, Illinois Bar Association and Women’s Bar Association of Illinois, where she is the co-chair of the Domestic Relations Roundtable. She works as a volunteer attorney for Chicago Volunteer Legal Services where she represents low-income clients in probate matters. Alia is also a Member of the Junior League of Chicago, an organization that promotes women’s interests and volunteerism.
Ms. Caravelli is married to Tracey Holtshirley, who is also an attorney and a Major in the United States Marine Corps Reserves. They live on the north side of Chicago.
